First edition. Illustrated with frontispiece, five photogravure plates, and fifteen plates, some of which are in colour. Collated complete. A historical study on Mary Stuart, Queen of Scotland from 1542 until her forced abdication in 1567. This work explores her life and the controversy surrounding her place on the throne with letters translated from the original Scots. Written by Andrew Lang, a Scottish novelist, poet, literary critic, and anthropologist. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. The odd mark to the board and light fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light spotting to the photogravure plates. Very Good
