About This Item

New York: Farrar & Rinehart, 1931. Cloth. Very Good/Very Good. The 1931 1st edition, in its wonderful Joseph Cummings Chase-illustrated dustjacket. Solid and VG (very light sunning along the top-edges, mild offsetting at the front free endpaper, tasteful former owner bookplate to the front pastedown) in a crisp, VG dustjacket, with light chipping along the top-edges. Thick octavo, the candid story of Mary Roberts Rinehart (1876-1958), one of the top-selling authors of detective fiction from the tenns through the 1950s, often called "the American Agatha Christie"
