About This Item
NY: Limited Editions Club [1991]. Limited edition, #18 of 250 copies signed by Kuper at colophon. 19" x 16". [4], 81, [3] pp. Text in English, translated from Russian by Mark Rudman and Bohdan Boychuk. Printed at the Wild Carrot Press on thick, handmade paper incorporating un-pulped fragments of Russian-language newspapers. With 6 plates of original etchings by Kuper. Half-bound in gray morocco and paper from the text stock over boards, black-stamped Russian lettering to spine, top edge trimmed, housed in cloth-covered slipcase. Moderate sunning to spine, some browning at extremities of paper on covers (likely from binder's paste), minor shelfwear and browning to edges of slipcase. Monthly newsletter laid in. One of the LEC's more distinctive publications, an evocative presentation of Pasternak's powerful 1922 collection with Kuper's solemn, still-life images.
