London, 1966. First edition. Hardcover. Very good/good. 8vo, pictorial dust jacket over red cloth with gilt titles on spine and emblem on front. Upper edge red. Xiii + 306p. including index. Illustrated with frontispiece and throughout with black and white photographs. Includes fold out genealogical tree at rear. Princess Alice was born in 1883 and grew up in the later years of Victorian Britain as part of the British Royal family's inner circle. "The impact of the 1914/18 War, the middle years leading up to the Second World War and the changing scenes of the fifties and sixties are all recorded in this vivid chronicle of Victorian, Edwardian, Georgian and second Elizabethan times". Repaired tear to the front of the unclipped dust jacket, other chipping to the edges and fold to inner edge, generally good. The inner book is in excellent clean condition with some age spotting to edge.
