About This Item
Sidgwick & Jackson, London, 1990. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/Good. Illustrator: Pamela Kay. Introduction by Robyn Marsack and list of illustrations. Dusky pink coloured end pages. The text is illustrated with both colour and black-and-white illustrations by Pamela Kay. Silver gray coloured boards with silver coloured titles to the backstrip. Illustrated dustwrapper, again by Pamela Kay, with dark sage and ochre coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Mary Russell Mitford was born in 1787 and died in 1855. She, by necessity, her father was a spendthrift who went through two fortunes, was a literary drudge and became one of the most admired authors of her time. But, her real love was for her garden, and in her friendships, and this book combines the best of her writings and her delight in both. Softening of the backstrip edges and rubbing of the book corners. Some fading to the lower book edges along with some faint foxing. Age toning of the text block edges and pages. Some rubbing of the dustwrapper edges and panels. A little foxing to the verso of the dustwrapper. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [8], 9 - 160 pages,. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Illustrator: Pamela Kay. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo. Category: Gardening; Britain/UK; Biography & Autobiography. ISBN: 0283999993. ISBN/EAN: 9780283999994.
