These novels are narrated by a woman named Janet Sandison as they follow her life from World War One to the 1960s. They are loosely based on Duncan's own life, as her protagonist shows how her crofting upbringing influenced her in the society that she lives in. This novel focuses upon the relationship that Sandison has with her father through the years.Jane Duncan (1910-1976), also known as Elizabeth Jane Cameron, was a Scottish author. She is best known for her semi-autobiographical novels, though she also wrote a few children's books as well. Collated, complete.
