This is Mowat's second book on his experiences with the First Canadian Infantry Division fighting in Sicily and Italy during the Second World War. This volume combines a narrative account with excerpts of letters written by Mowat to his father, a veteran of the First World War. A near fine copy of the first edition in dust jacket. Ignore the facsimile signature on the free end paper. This copy has been signed by the author on the title page. He has also dated it in the year of publication. This is not the facsimile signature one will find on the free end paper of every copy.
