A lot of eight individual copies of the leading Lutheran Church manual from the 1920s, a consecutive though not complete run, beginning with Volume II (Volume I is tres scarce) through to Volume IX. Sturdy, still tightly bound softcover copies, minor wear of covers, mostly chipping along the softcover edges, but with neither underlining nor highlighting. Perfectly readable, usable copies. Each volume is replete with black-and-white illustrations and photographs, obituaries, Church news, missionary comings and goings, soldiers at the front, and historical works regarding Martin Luther himself and the Lutheran Church. This run begins in 1916 with the publication of Volume II, and continues with Volume III (1917), Volume IV (1918), Volume V (1919), Volume VI (1920), Volume VII (1921), Volume VIII (1922) and Volume IX (1923). Some of the volumes have personal inscriptions in pencil and pen at the endpapers, some were gifts from one to another. Each volume was edited by Pastor Ira O. Nothstein.
