Dustjacket worn at folds, with several chips, chipping top and bottom of spine, tear at rear fold. Original price visible on rear flap, as well as pictures of Evelyn Ames and William Pène du Bois. "Any way you looked at it, there was something queer about the Bennetts having so many adventures with animals and birds. They never had to pick a pet ... the pets picked them!" Near fine in good dustjacket, protected with mylar cover..
