Signed by Capote First edition, first printing, signed by the author on the front free endpaper, and additionally with a signed photograph and letter loosely inserted (discharging his bank from a forged cheque). Music for Chameleons was Capote's final book, a collection of short stories "consisting of some of his most effective prose" (ANB). Octavo. Original black cloth, spine and front cover lettered in silver. With dust jacket. Housed in custom pink cloth solander box. A fine copy, in near-fine jacket with hint of rubbing at extremities.
Synopsis
Music for Chameleons (1980) is an anthology by the American author Truman Capote, which includes both fiction and non-fiction. Capote's first offering of new material in 14 years, Music for Chameleons spent an unheard of (for a collection of short works) 16 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list.
