About This Item
No-place: no-publisher, (1991). First edition. Photocopy page proofs. 8 x 11" sheets printed on rectos only, 357 pages, unbound. With a typewritten title page dated "(1991)" at bottom followed by Davies' handwritten, undated title page with Samuel Butler quote ("Printers finde by experience that one Murther is worth two Monsters...") that appears prior to the contents page in published version. TOGETHER WITH a copy of the true first edition published in Canada by McClelland & Stewart in 1991. A brief comparison between the two shows the contents pages differ (section titles are not altogether the same) and p.265 in the proof (p.269 in published version) lacks a line - leading us to believe it is safe to assume there are other differences. Altogether near fine.
