About This Item
London: Collins, 1952. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. The interior of the book is fresh and clean. The front free end paper has a Christmas seal and gift tag (see 2nd of attached pictures), but there is no other wear or damage. The green cloth cover show light rubs at tips and corners, and the gilt spine lettering has dulled. The dust jacket is also in very good condition, with little general wear, but shallow chipping at the top of the spine. The attached picture should give a better idea of condition. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover. Synopsis: Mrs Tim returns to England to spend a summer with her children in a small village. Bryan and Betty are now nearly grown up; Mrs Tim meets up with old friends like Tony Morley, Grace MacDougall and the faithful Symes, and meets new ones. The squire's beautiful daughter provides romance, Mrs. Daulkes and her offspring provide comic relief, and the snake in the grass is the curious little old lady who lives next door.
