About This Item
Los Angeles, CA: T.V.X. Ltd.. Offered is the February 1978 issue of LA MOVIN' - an underground newspaper issued out of Los Angeles, California. A left-folded newspaper measuring 11-1/2" by 15-1/8" and containing 24 pages including front and rear covers. No indication of issue number or date, but probable February 1978 issue. Too non-mainstream for the supermarket, and probably sold out of street vending machines, a folded tabloid newspaper containing articles, news, entertainment, reviews, and resources for the Los Angeles reader. Well-illustrated with photos, highlights include: Plans "Anti-Clothes" Campaign (four photos of Janine Dietch); A Little Bad Time For Miss Camp Pendleton: Beauty Queen Victimized by Polly Warfield (on Deborah Marie Boldo); The Tubes: Still Plugged In (Fee Waybill and Michael Cotten interviewed); The Clint Eastwood of Rock n' Roll (John Stewart interviewed); photospread of MacArthur Park (downtown Los Angeles); Sextette: Mae West (with six photos from the opening night at the Cinerama Dome); Grass Poison (on the discovery of the dangerous herbicide paraquat in samples of marijuana by the National Institute on Drug Abuse). Pages lightly age-toned. . Near Fine. Newspaper. 1st Edition. 1978.
