Collects seven parodies of supernatural fiction, edited and with an introduction by George Locke. The authors parodied are Arthur Conan Doyle (twice), Fergus Hume, Arthur Machen, H. Rider Haggard, Jules Verne, and H. P. Lovecraft in the title story by Arthur C. Clarke. Illustrated by Peter Fuller and Jim Cawthorn with full page black and white drawings. Edition limited to 1000 copies. Cover design of "Virgin Filigree" is by Cawthorn "in the style of Vigil Finlay." 111 pp. Errata slip tipped onto the inside of the rear cover.
