Very Good in a Good jacket, unclipped ($6.95), faded at the spine, lightly soiled, bumped with some tears and chips at the edges. Quarter black cloth with beige cloth on the boards, rubbed at the edges and corners. Firmly bound with a slight forward lean, foxed at the edges, former owner's name blacked out on the front endpaper. Symons' historical literary criticism that traces the development of the mystery and suspense genre from Wilkie Collins and Edgar Allan Poe to the authors of the day.
