First edition in book form, following serialization in The Wave, of the author's first novel, "a romantic sea story of a young socialite kidnapped on the San Francisco waterfront and brought to manhood by the influence of the blond heroine Moran" (ANB). Octavo. Original green cloth, spine and front cover lettered in yellow with decoration in blind. Housed in green cloth chemise within green quarter morocco box. Bookplate to front pastedown of Jerome Kane Ohrbach (1907-1990), president of the Ohrbach Department Stores chain. Ink spot to top edge, else a fine copy. BAL 15029.
