Philadelphia, 1862. 47, [1]p., 3 original watercolors, a hand-colored and decorated title page which gives the author as T H P, 4 mostly black and white chapter decorations, 5 mostly black and white illustrations, all illustrations are on leaves. A good to very good copy, there is a half-inch chip at the top of the spine and all corners of the covers are slightly rubbed and slightly worn. It is bound in ful morocco with raised gilt panels and all edges are gilt. According to the WorldCat there is one other original copy of this poem at Brown and it is not illustrated. Our copy was owned by Col. John R. Johnston whose stamp is on a preliminary page.. First Edition. Full Decorated Leather. Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
