London: Staples Press. Very Good in Good+ dust jacket. 1948. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. Some shelf wear and tear to unclipped DJ with remains of sticker to base of spine, some foxing to endpapers and edges of reading block, ink name and date Sept 1949 to front endpaper. ; Red cloth boards with black lettering to front cover and spine. Book appears to have been privately rebound for a personal library and been slightly cut down from its original size. The margins around the text are sparse, and the DJ has the publishers name almost entirely cut off its base with only the very tops of the letters remaining. ; 428 pages; A story of a great conspiracy and a great love based on the life of Jacques Coeur financier to Charles VII of France during the fifteenth century. .
