Druckvermerk waren 167 + XXXIII Exemplaren geplant). - Hier ist alles handgefertigt: der Schutzumschlag mit handschriftlichem Titel, der schöne Marmorpapierbezug des Handeinbandes und das in goldenen Lettern geschriebene Titelschild; Vortitel, Titel, Impressum und Tafel-Unterschriften sind sämtlich von Schindehütte mit schwarzer und roter Tusche geschrieben. Folgende drei Original-Radierungen enthalten , je 25,5 x 20 cm: 1. Des Raben Wunderhorn - 2. Steg Reif Spiel - 3. Felix cum Felis. Fred Hagstrom: "'Pipeline' documents the ongoing protests against the construction of the Enbridge Line 3 oil pipeline that will take tar sands oil from Canada to Superior Wisconsin. It is actually a new line along a new route, leaving the old pipeline in the ground. The line crosses land that is held by tribes without honoring treaty rights. It is seen as a threat to the sources of water in northern Minnesota, including the Mississippi and numerous wetlands and streams in the Lake Superior watershed. Tribes are also concerned about the effects of possible spills on wild rice beds. The oil from this line will greatly add to emissions."

Translation provided by Eve Lerner. Loose leaves laid into wrapper and issued in a hand-made box designed by Jeanne Frere. Measures 37 x 39 cm. The edition was limited to only 35 copies plus 10 A. C., numbered and SIGNED by both the poet and the artist. A fine, as-new copy. Destined to be a real "stopper" for Ferlinghetti collectors. The delicate paper label on the front panel of the box has a tear, else this item is in fine condition.

This etching shows the cancellation bars on the right upper corner, and is numbered 249/350 in pencil. Pablo Picasso especially made the etching for the book and is titled 'The Couple'.
