Provenance; with the bookplates of Francesco Rizzo Patarol (1749-1807) front paste downs of Vols. I, III, and IV, whose noble family built the Rizzo Patarol palace in Venice which was at one time the seat of the Savoy embassy, then the French embassy. A Very Good Plus set, light soiling to vellum, uniform browning. Vol. I: xliv, 522 pp., 8 tables, 7 of them fold-out. Vol. II: (2), 566, (4) pp., 34 tables, 25 fold-out. Vol. III, 710 pp., 2 fold-outs at p. 34, plus engraved Metropolis of Scotland Colledge fold-out plate tipped in at p. 449. Vol. IV: (4), 560, (1) pp., 14 fold-outs.
