New York: John Day Company, 1966. First printing. Hardcover. Very Good/good -. Sipprell was a successful portrait photographer in New York during the 1920s and 30s. In 1966, when book was published, she lived in Manchester, Vermont. Many of her subjects are of the famous (e.g. Stieglitz, Frost, Koussevitsky, Markham, Eleanor Roosevelt, Albert Schweitzer, Maxfield Parrish, Chaliapin) and many Vermonters. She was also famous for her still lifes. Includes textual notes about the subjects and the circustances. White buckram boards with gilt spine letter. Title is blind embossed on front board with Sipprell signature in gilt. Illustrated endpapers. The boards are discolored along the edges. Head/heel of spine and corners lightly bumped. Binding is tight and interior pages are clean and tight. Clipped dj has chips, tears, edgewear, and shelfwear. In protective mylar jacket.
