About This Item
Harrison, NY: Harbor Hill Books, 1979. Hardcover. Very Good/No Dust Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 455 pp. Tightly bound. Corners not bumped. Text is free of markings. No ownership markings. No dust jacket. Published in gray cloth with gilt type face on the spine. This copy is the 1988, third printing, of the 1979 reprint edition. This copy is smyth sewn. Smyth sewing is a method of bookbinding where groups of folded pages (referred to as signatures) are stitched together using binder thread. Each folded signature is sewn together individually with multiple stitches and then joined with other signatures to create the complete book block. This is the traditional and best method of bookbinding.
