Stated first edition. 12mo (5" x 7 3/4") hardcover bound in dark green , now turned to black, cloth with gold spine lettering. 277 pages plus an eight page publisher's catalog dated 628 at the rear, indicating 1 st issue.. A Near Fine copy. Small Rub marks to the corners, spine tip s & seams. The spine lettering is bright but there is some light sunni ng to the spine. There are a few small dust spots to the outer edges o f the page blocks but content is otherwise Fine. In rare Very Good or better dj. First issue Orange Jacket with black lettering has tiny fr ays to the spine tips and corners, but is otherwise about fine. The au thor's 2nd book preceded by a Rare 1914 book of Poetry. SIGNED and ins cribed by Stapledon to fellow author Aage Marcus on the front fly as f ollows: "A. Marcus/from/Olaf Stapledon/4th April 1934". A scarce boo k in dust jacket, exceedingly so Inscribed. .
