London: L.N. Fowler & Co., LTD, 1958. Book. Near Fine. Cloth. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Revised and enlarged July 1955. First Impression January 1958 , so stated. ( After the first edition of December 1951). Blue cloth with gilt lettering to the front and spine. This copy is NEAR FINE in a NEAR FINE, clipped DJ with "Revised Edition" to the DJ spine and encased in protective Brodart. SCARCE in this edition and SCARCE in any early edition in quality DJ. Exterior has a bit of rubbing around the bottom edges, but rich with bright gilt and sharp top edges. Inside has the neat PO stamp of James Marchand, noted Linguist and Professor at the University of Illinois on the FEP as well as a small bookseller's label to the bottom front paste down. Text is unmarked, and firmly bound. Modest/moderate toning throughout. DJ has just a touch of sunning to the spine with no other noticeable defects. Simply lovely..
