About This Item
London U.K.: Macmillan and Co. Ltd. Near Fine in Near Fine dust jacket. 1963. Second, Revised and Enlarged. Hardcover. A clean, crisp copy. This title has a complex printing history. The copy in hand is the thrid printing of the second printing of the second edition, with corrections, if you can follow that. It appears to have been updated to 1957. Discouragingly, the last paragraph of text begins: "The Kashmir problem has been before the Security Council for more than a decade, but no solution has been reached...." The first few pages are a bit creased, due to shelfwear, but the book shows no signs of having been read. There are no inscriptions or markings. There is a fold-out map of medieval India at the front, and two fold-out maps, of India in 1947 and again in 1956, all pristine. The table of contents lists a map of India in 1952, which is not present, but I suspect that the 1956 map was substituted for it, since there is certainly no evidence that anything was removed. The jacket is slightly shelfworn. A mylar Brodart cover now protects it. .
