About This Item

4.25" x 6.5". 244 pages. Withdrawn from the library. Apparently once a text book in the high school. Good strong re-binding. Soil on the outside of the closed pages. Eight B&W glossy portraits of the essayists. Includes thoughts from William James, E.V. Lucas, Henry Seidel Canby, G.K. Chesterton, Agnes Repplier, Henry van Dyke, A.C. Benson, Walter Prichard Eaton, Richard La Gallienne, Samuel M Crothers, Joseph Conrad, Woodrow Wilson and Hendrik van Loon. Title page missing. (I can include a copy from another book just for interest's sake if requested). Many markings on the CONTENTS page. Ink on page 3. Pencil on page 21. Underlining in "MONEY". Residue from tape repair on page 90 that must have occurred previous to the library binding. Aside from the crucial identifying page being missing, all the essays, the photos, and the QUESTIONS AND DISCUSSION section in the back of the book are all clean and intact. Not bad for a 100-year-old book. Our listing number 48029.

About The M.A.D. House Artists

The M.A.D. House Artists is located in our home on beautiful Grand Lake in Oklahoma. We are so rural even Google does not know where we are. Call for Directions. The M.A.D. House Artists have amassed a large inventory from private collections, personal libraries, and public library purges. It is our strong feeling that these books should be available for reading, rather than shredding and recycling as grocery bags. Our collection is eclectic and ranges from the sublime to the ridiculous, but so do our reading tastes. If you do not see your book listed, please feel free to contact us, as there are many more not yet listed, and more are added daily. Visitors are welcome, and encouraged to call for directions.
