Pages remain bright and clear with minimal tanning and foxing. Pencil inscription to front free endpaper. Thumb-marking present. Grubby pages throughout. Noticeable creasing to gutter. Cracking to gutters, with exposed netting. Boards have heavy edge-wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Notable tanning to spine and edges. Visible loss to spine ends. Noticeable black marks overall. Textblock is shaky.

Illustrators covered include Eric Gill, Rex Whistler, Edward Ardizzone, Claire Leighton, Rockwell Kent, Robert Gibbings, Ernest Shepard, etc. Heavily foxed and well thumbed copy. Some illustrations are clear of foxing but many are marked. A Wuthering Heights illustration by Clare Leighton is only lightly foxed to the wide margin but other illustrations are foxed right across.
