Nouvelles Archives du Muséum d'Historie Naturelle de Paris, tome 3. The genus Ziphius is known as the beaked whale or goose-beaked whale. Cuvier's beaked whale (Ziphius cavirostris) is the most widely distributed of all the beaked whales.
