About This Item
Boston: Gregg Press,, 1978. [First Thus]. As Poul Anderson (himself no slouch when it comes to the "hard sciences," ) stated in his introduction to this reissue of the SF classic"Nobody has created a better speciman of 'hard' science fiction, nor is anybody ever likely to, except maybe the author. . .Suffice to say, that MISSION OF GRAVITY is one crackling helluva an intellectual adventure, plus a mighty good story. . ." Or as the author himself declared, "The story on which I am content, to let my reputation rest, "Hal Clement. Also contains the short story set on Mesklin, "Lecture Demonstration," and "Whirligig World," Clement's own accounting of how MISSION OF GRAVITY originated. Fine copy issued w/o d.j.
