The Dedication Copy, Inscribed to Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Donald Justice on the half-title: "For my friend and teacher Don Justice, in gratitude and friendship - and for all the years and all the missing persons. Chris. November 1989." The printed dedication reads "for Donald Justice." Justice and Wiseman had known each other since the 1950s; Justice is also quoted in the jacket copy on Wiseman's "strong, clear, truth-telling voice." The Dedication Copy.
