The book features Claudia Castro, a young woman with a trust fund, from a distinguished family, beginning her freshman year at NYU, who goes missing after a drunken violent night of which Claudia has only hazy memories. Claudia cuts herself off from her family and, with 2nd semester starting, goes missing. NYC is suddenly trying to find Claudia and learn what happened that night. First edition, first printing, as stated, with complete numberline. About 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches, 278 pages including acknowledgments, in black paper boards with red lettering on spine. The dustjacket's front panel shows a white, torn silhouette of a woman against a red background with the title in red & black letters across silhouette's shoulders. Back panel carries eight blurbs of "advance" praise for the novel. Signed by Dahl on the title page, no date, no inscription. This is a new book and dustjacket without noticeable or significant fault or damage. Colllectale. With this novel, Dahl has establlished herself as a first-rate writer of crime and suspense. . New.
