It contains a black and white illustrated portrait of the author, with no advertisement pages. Pages are moderately tanned with mild foxing throughout. Mild cracking to bottom of front hinge and gutters throughout. However, pages remain tightly bound. Small tears to bottom of a few pages. Heavier to page no. 5, causing it to be slightly loose. Some brown marks to pages throughout. More pronounced to pages 28-9, text still readable. Previous owner's inscription in pen to top edge of front free endpaper. Corners are slightly creased and occasionally dog-eared. Minor scuffing to gutters between pages 176-7. Visible thumb-marking throughout. Book has a slight forward lean. Boards have moderate edge wear with corner bumping. Light tanning to spine, with small splits to ends. Minor fraying to cloth to corners and edges. Cup ring marks to front board.
