Hardcover/ no DJ; Fair condition- Would be VG, EXCEPT front cover neatly & completely separated from binding (present & totally intact). Binding otherwise tight & square. SIGNED (no inscription) by author w/ location ""Media, Pa."" on blank page following front free endpaper. Assume First Edition, c. 1916- same date on title page & no note of further printings. 323 pages, green endpapers, photo frontis w/ intact tissue protector, photo text illus., top edge of text block bright gilt, 8.25"" x 5.5"". Gray 'tweed"" design cloth covers w/ leather corners & spine. Cloth bright & clean; leather shows rubbing, toning & edge wear (none severe), 1/2"" x 3/8"" chip at top of spine. Gilt spine lettering & anchor & star decoration bright & totally legible. Text & endpapers remarkably white & clean- maybe just a hint of toning. Still a very nice copy- great candidate for repair/ restoration.
