About This Item

New York, NY, U.S.A.: HarperCollins, 1995. First Edition. Pictorial Boards. Fine/Fine in Archival Plastic Cover. Sendak, Maurice. A bright colorful First Edition (so stated) signed personally for Parrish Books by both the author and the illustrator on the half-title page. This book was signed by Sendak and Yorinks at the Sendak Barn in Connecticut on Feb 1, 2004 when June Jones of Parrish Books visited Mr. Sendak to purchase several hundred of his signed books. Arthur Yorinks, a close friend of Sendak's at the time, was also in attendance so both signed this book that day; so there is no doubt about the authenticity of the signatures. [Picture of the occasion available by request with purchase]. In fine unread condition with colorful pictorial boards in a fine colorful dustjacket in protective plastic cover. 40 pp., unpaginated. 10 3/8" x 10 1/4". This is the story of Giuseppe Giaweeni who leaves Italy in his ship to look for China. Instead he ends up in Miami where he finds the Mishbookers, a lost tribe of dancing giants! A charming story by Arthur Yorinks with fabulous colorful illustrations by Mr. Sendak. A beautiful and special book.
