About This Item
NY: Corcoran Group, [2007.] A promotional book for an innovative residential building designed by Japanese architect Shigeru Ban (b. 1957.) The 11-story structure in downtown Manhattan was built in 2010 on West 19th St. It features a variable facade with mechanized shutters that open and close for privacy and light – a contextual nod to the roll-up security doors common to city storefronts. Flip book format, offering a visual tour of the interior and exterior when the pages are fanned. Paperbound with dust jacket. 3 x 6.5 inches. [160] unnumbered pages, printed recto side only. Mostly illustrations with brief text in the rear. Some edge wear, but about Near Fine overall. A nicely designed book, befitting its subject.
