Jonathan Cape, London, 1969. First Edition. Hardcover. Good Condition/Poor. 188pp. Black coloured the boards with gilt writing on the spine. Red coloured tint to top paper edge. Bumping to the top book edges and like bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine. Photographic dustwrapper, showing Big Ben and Houses of Parliament with a hand in the background, against a white background with black writing on the front panel and spine. The dustwrapper is chipped at the corners and the spine sunned. There are grubby marks and handling marks to the dustwrapper as well. The dustwrapper is price clipped, front fold over, lower right-hand corner. In the near future England is a demoralised island trapped between two world powers. In this world six murders are investigated, and a conspiracy to the highest levels of society and power is exposed. This is the first UK edition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
