Engraved illustrations by Seguin, D'Aubigny, Steinheil, etc.. Red stamp on verso of title page "Suscipere et finere, ex Bibliotheca Ernesti Aug. Hannov. Regis" (from the library of Ernest Augustus, Duke of Cumberland and King of Hanover [1771-1851]). Also, round armorial bookplate inside front cover "LE COMTE LOUIS TASCHER DE LAPAGERIE". Internal front hinge with paper tear, cover firmly attached. Some pages lightly foxed. A account of Italian patriot Silvio Pellico's Austrian imprisonment (1820-1830) on charges of being a revolutionary & the suffering he endured. Italy, Text in French. ; B&W Illustrations; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 335 pages .
