Signed by David Bone to the limitation page and by Muirhead Bone in pencil by frontispiece. A fascinating memoir by Captain and nautical fiction writer David Bone, recollecting his experiences around the Second World War and his participation in Operation Husky, campaign for Sicily to take back the Axis power. Profusely and beautifully illustrated by the author's brother and painter Muirhead Bone with fifteen full plates and various headpieces throughout.With the original publisher's protective box. In the original publisher's quarter morocco binding with cloth covered boards. Externally lovel. Signed in ink by the author to limitation page and by the artist, in pencil, to frontispiece. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with most leaves unopened.
