"...the story of the small fore-and-aft rigged merchant sailing ships of England and Wales i the years from 1780 to 1940." Contains an index and nine appendicies in the rear. Original maroon cloth publisher's covers with gilt spine lettering. There is a small, short Christmas note on the upper corner of the front free end paper, else this is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates. The dust jacket has small tear to the bottom edge and a small tear and crease at the top of the rear panel, else it is in clean, unmarked condition. ; B&W Photos & Illustrations; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 310 pages .
