London: Frederick Warne. Good with no dust jacket. 1905. Decorative Cloth. 234 pp. 17th edition. Brown boards. Black and gilt lettering. Drawings of a menu, golden hung pheasant, and steaming boar's head on front. Corners, spine ends worn. Edges rubbed. Ink scribbles on title page. Ink spot on rear endpapers. This is not a recipe book, but one of terminology, intended for the lady of the household to enable her to properly make out French menus, and to order a variety of dishes from their cooks. There is a brief description of each dish to allow her mistress to recognize them.; 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall .
