NY: Random House, 1986. First edition. Hardcover. Near fine. The softcover uncorrected proof in yellow wraps, signed by Matthiessen with a Sharpie on the title page. Especially uncommon as such. A large octavo or small quarto without the images of the finished book. Near fine with a crease from basic use along the spine and a light crease to upper corner of front wrap that extends gently through the first 50 pages or so..
