First edition, first printing with full number line. A collection of contemporary photographs culled from the National Archives and taken primarily by Naval Aviation Photographic Unit (with several each from the Marine, Army Air Corps and Army similar photographic units). An evocative and sympathetic portrayal of the quieter side of war; the playfulness, boredom and anxiety which accompany the young men who are called to fight. No previous ownership marks. A clean, tight, fresh and unmarked copy. Fine in a fine dust-jacket. A large, heavy book, Priority and International orders will require additional postage. .
