About This Item
1945. First edition. Hardcover - binding discolored. Very Good. 1945, large page size, 47pp text plus 137 illustrations, primarily in color, from the Abbott Collection of paintings of the US Government. A discussion of men in wartime by an Associated Press journalist with the help of the Medical department of the US Army. The images are remarkable, a far cry from the typical battlefield scenes.
Presentation copy to Commander J.E. Nadler from the well-known illustrator/painter Robert Benney "From one who has a high regard for your men who were armed with Magic Bullets." Twenty-four of the paintings are in fact by Benney.
