These books are very rare and hard to find. In 1917 Mr.Forbes (the founder of Forbes Magazine) personally interviewed all but one of the fifty men chosen for Men Who are Making America, resulting in a short autobiography, their beginnings, their dreams. The data he collected is, where born, circumstances of parents as in moderate, poor, rich, age in 1917, how they began, and in what did they achieve their chief success. The list of men interviewed is fascinating: Alexander Graham Bell, Andrew Carnegie, George Eastman, Henry Ford, John D. Rockefeller etc....

In America's Fifty Foremost Business Leaders, 1948, Mr. Forbes analyzed the business changes, the trends, the upheaval and the success or failure of many businesses. He also supplied biographical data of the original fifty men interviewed in the first book covering the last 30 years of business practices. In this book Mr. Forbes approached fifty of the Foremost Business leaders and asked them to submit a short biography of themselves and their business. they obliged and this book contains 50 chapters written by America's Foremost Business leaders. With both these books for comparison Mr. Forbes gives us a great picture of why and how America became the great nation that we are. Every interview from the first and second book have 4 x 5 black and white pictures of the businessmen. Both these books would change the views portrayed by the History Channel's mini series of Men Who Built America.
