John Henry Nash 1939 printing of Inscribed Presentation Copy in Fine Condition, Limited Edition 1 of 1,000 copies. Frontispiece portrait of W.T. Ellis (1866-1955) , 308 pages with some additional photographs and illustrations. Boldly inscribed and dated 1942 by Ellis. Book is 11 inches in height by 7.75 inches in width, FINE, quarter bound, mustard paper boards with paper spine label on tan cloth spine. Scarce Jacket is near Fine a tad bit of wear to corners. Looks sharp in a new mylar sleeve. A Fantastic Limited Edition. Ellis was the son of a Marylander who became a well to do merchant in Marysville, California. Ellis carried on the family business and served on the Marysville's Levee Commission for 40 years. This work is his account of his boyhood in Marysville as well as the towns early history. He proudly displays his knowledge of flood control that helped protect Marysville from the Feather and Yuba Rivers. Also information on the impact of hydraulic mining.
