About This Item

London: The Hogarth Press, 1932. Bound in the publishers original fine weave orange coloured cloth with contrasting blue title lettering to spine. This is the first impression of the first edition and is rare thus. All pages are present and correct with no inscriptions and are tightly bound. Book sits soild and square with all corners sharp. Blue title lettering to spine remains sharp and definite. A very clean copy inside and out. Housed in the atmospheric John Banting designed dustwrapper with publishers printed price intact on front inside flap. Vivid and surreal bright blue illustration on brown coloured paper couple together to form a most eyecatching and enigmatic dustwrapper. Now protected in a removable archival booksleeve to preserve its condition. Light wear and signs of handling commensurate with age but a bright example of the dustwrapper which remains in very good condition. A most presentable copy of Christopher Isherwood's excellent second novel.. First Edition. Near Fine/Very Good. FIRST EDITION.
