New York: Hurd and Houghton, 1874. First Edition. Hard Cover. Used; Acceptable. Top 1" of spine torn, still attached on one side; binding split between pages 168 and 169; some foxing. A tasteful celebration of the lives of the sisters Alice and Phoebe Cary who were authors of some renown in the mid-1800's. Their Sunday evenings "at home" were well attended by the famous literary figures of the time, including Horace Greeley, Susan B. Anthony, and John Greenleaf Whittier.
