About This Item

N. p., n. p. [?1852]. Folio, 312 x 198 mms., pp. 46 facsimile of a manuscript, with Taylor's autograph replicated at end,19th century binder's cloth; stab-holes in inner margin, front hinge cracked. The "memorandum" is preceded by this note: "This manuscript was in 1827 sent to Sir John Shelley Bart by Sir Herbert Taylor at the time of the Funeral of His Royal Highness The Duke of York which Sir John Shelley attended by command -- presented by Frances, his Widow to her Son for the Maresfield Park Library 1852." As facsimiles go, this is about as convincing as they come, and it has every appearance of being a fair copy of of Taylor's Memoirs of the last Illness and Decease of H. R. H. the Duke of York (1827; three editions).
