Size octavo, 379 pages plus index and plates. Green cloth covered boards with gilt titles to the spine, beige end-papers. Condition very good, the covers are very clean, hinges cracked, pages are clean throughout. From the Library of Nicholas Ambraseys. Nicholas Neocles Ambraseys FICE FREng 1929-2012 was a Greek engineering seismologist. He was emeritus professor of Engineering Seismology and Senior Research Fellow at Imperial College London. For many years Ambraseys was considered as the leading figure and absolute authority in earthquake engineering and seismology in Europe. This copy was presented to Ambraseys and there is a label to the front end-paper that reads: "Presented to Prog N N Ambraseys in recognition of over 40 years advice to Black & Veatch, formerly Binnie & Partners, on the engineering aspects of earthquakes for projects worldwide." With full reproductions of all the original plates including fold out plates and large fold-out maps. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall
