A limited edition work, of which two hundred and ten copies were printed, this copy is numbered one-hundred and twenty-nine, with seven etchings in duplicate. The memoir of Count Carlo Gozzi, a noted Italian playwright, as well as being a champion of Commedia dell'arte, an early form of professional theatre, which he was interested in saving. Gozzi was known for his works 'L'amore Delle tre Melarance', 'Turandot', and 'La Donna Serpente'. Volume I illustrated with a frontispiece, seven colour plates, and one monochrome plate.
